the skirt

this skirt is made of 100% linen. unbleached. not colored. there are 9 & 2/3 yards of fabric in it. the bottom measures 53.5 feet all the way around. and it took about an hour and fifteen minutes to hem. if laid over flat on itself it makes more than 3 full circles. and because the bolt is wider than normal, 5 feet to be exact, there are 143 square feet of fabric in my fantabulous skirt!! it was made to be a chemise skirt for my outfit's i wear to the renaissance festival, but i think it came out a hair more like a petticoat. at any rate i think it's fantastic and i love it. i'm going to wear it everywhere!!!
